Weekly Postcard / Photo Friday: a weekly post with a picture that I love, of a place that is worth highlighting.
Honfleur is a seaside town in Normandy, France. It has a signature harbor in the city center with terraces all around it. It is a super picturesque place. I have great memories of this town. When we were smaller we used to sail here with our parents. And recently I went on a road trip with my dad to Normandy, and we both knew we had to start here.
How to get there
It lies on the coast of Normandy, across the river Seine from Le Havre. As far as I know, there is no train station. You’d better just drive there.
What to do
– Roam the little streets.
– Visit one of the art galleries. There are many around. It’s like every creative person flees their homeland and settles in Honfleur to sell (their) paintings.
– Use Honfleur as a base to visit the D-Day landing beaches.
– Sit on a terrace and drink locally produced cider and eat freshly caught sea food and enjoy this amazing view.
