Weekly Postcard / Photo Friday: a weekly post with a picture that I love, of a place that is worth highlighting.
One of the most awesome trips -and the best hike- I’ve ever done was the GR20 on the French island Corsica. It is a 180km (110mi) train across the mountains. It took us 2 weeks to complete. The views were stunning. The other hikers super friendly. Just the best memories… (posts on this will follow).
How to get there
We flew to Nice on the Côte d’Azur (French Riviera) and took a boat to Calvi, then we walked to the start of the trail at Calenzana.
Another option would be to fly directly to one of the 4 airports on Corsica and then move to Calenzana overland. Mind you that especially outside tourist season the busses go infrequently (and don’t ride on some days).
What to do
Hike the GR20 of course. There are also smaller (day-) trails, as well as another long distance trail that crosses East to West. If you’re more into relaxing; there are some top notch beaches and some picturesque villages to visit.
